The heavy wooden bar itself dates back to the mid-1800s when the establishment was the Slate Exchange Hotel with its very own stable out back. Today the barroom and equally-sized restaurant room are charm-filled places to get a wider-ranged bar menu than one usually finds. Sure they have the favorites - buffalo wings and cheeseburgers - but you can also get crabmeat-stuffed mushrooms or a tuna steak. The music there is l-o-u-d.
